Jenny Stewart Counselling

Welcome and thank you for visiting my website.

Hi, I'm Jenny, a counsellor based in Lewes, East Sussex, offering online and in person sessions. I provide weekly therapy both short and long term to adults facing a range of emotional issues and life challenges.

Friendly and professional client-centred therapy

in person in Lewes, East Sussex or online across the UK

What I Offer

I offer both short and longer term therapy to individuals and couples. I have experience with most areas of counselling, with my main focus being on relationship issues: relationships between partners; family relationships or

friendships including loss, bereavement, relationship breakdown.

I work face to face from my garden therapy room, a private space surrounded by nature, and online across the UK.

I offer short term therapy for anything up to 6 weeks. This could be helpful for getting through a difficult or stressful time, finding coping strategies or resolving a specific issue.

Longer term therapy can be helpful if you are wanting to explore deeper issues and can last as long as you need or find helpful. Longer term work can be helpful if there are issues such as trauma from the past or present, depression or anxiety. It can offer the opportunity to make lasting changes and improve the quality of your relationships and your life.

Please feel free to get in touch call or text 07531128241 - I'd be happy to talk to you. You can also contact me through this website, details below.

About Me

My counselling practice is rooted in years of diverse experience - from recording life histories to providing psychological support for the UNHCR, within a high pressure, multi-cultural environment.

Having supported people through profound life displacements, I offer a grounded and steady presence, even when life can feel chaotic, uncertain and overwhelming.

My work in addiction services and community counselling and working in my own private practice has given me wide experience. I have the capacity to sit with you in your darkest and most vulnerable moments as well as sharing your more joyful and hopeful moments. I bring a sense of optimism and humour to my work and find that can sometimes be helpful in the dark times.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their ethical framework. I am fully insured and enhanced DBS checked. As part of my commitment to the profession, I attend regular supervision meetings and continually build on my experience by undertaking regular Continuing Professional Development.

Please feel free to read my blog if you would like to get more of a sense of how I work.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is grounded in person-centred theory and it's less about me being an expert and more about us exploring your world together. I believe in respecting your unique perspective and understanding your experiences as you see them.

I hold an optimistic view of human nature, believing we are always growing and moving towards our full potential, when life's circumstances allow.

I have also trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) for my couples work.

How I can help

Are you at a point in your life where you would like some extra support, someone you can rely on to listen?

We all struggle and suffer at different times in our lives and in my experience, having a space where you can be honest and share your thoughts and feelings with a trusted professional can make a real difference to your experience.

You may be experiencing difficulties in your relationship, or perhaps you are navigating a stressful time or transition and you feel like talking to a someone outside your immediate circle would be beneficial.
